Four ways lead from the Paris airports into the city, and the right one depends on who is travelling and when.
RER B train
The cheapest option from CDG, and a reasonable one for a solo traveller with a backpack. It means a walk to the station inside the terminal, a train that stops at every station in the northern suburbs at off-peak times, then a connection to the metro with your suitcases. From Orly, the metro line 14 reaches the centre quickly, but the same luggage problem applies. Service stops late at night and starts around 5 am, which rules it out for the earliest departures.

Official Paris taxis apply a flat rate between each airport and the city, on either bank of the Seine, which is honest and simple. There is no booking, so no name sign and no vehicle choice: you join the queue after a long flight, you may get a small car when you have four suitcases, and an English-speaking driver is luck rather than a promise. For a departure, you must find a taxi yourself at 5 am.
Uber and ride-hail apps
Convenient when the app works and the driver finds you at the right door of Terminal 2E. Prices rise with demand, exactly when planes land in waves, drivers cancel long airport runs at peak hours, and the car arrives only once you have landed, switched on your phone and walked to the pickup zone. Child seats are not offered.
